After working ourselves out, draining energy to impart to our student what we know, it is just right to replenish the energy that we lost – and one way of doing it, is through travelling (and of course it should be budget- friendly).
This is the last leg of our Cavite Historical Tour on a motorcycle. This tour around Cavite wasn’t really well planned, we were supposed to be filing our application form for our Masters Degree at Cavite State University (Indang Campus), but unfortunately we forgot to bring the other documents that they need for our application.
To make our time worthwhile since we’re already in Cavite, Me and my best friend decided to visit the spots that we weren’t able to visit the last time. First on our list was St. Augustine Church in Tanza, since Tanza is the closest municipality from Indang that has a history that needs to be untold. St. Augustine Church is quite historical because it is the place where Emilio Aguinaldo took his oath in front of a cross as the 1st Philippine President of the Revolutionary Government together with Mariano Trias as the Vice President, Artemio Ricarte as the “Kapitan Heneral” and Emiliano Riego de Dios as the “Direktor Pandigma”. The museum is under the management of St. Augustine Parish.
**After Emilio Aguinaldo took his oath here, it has been the tradition in the province that the elected government officials including the Governor of Cavite to take his oath here in the Church of St. Augustine.

It was almost 12 noon when we left St. Augustine Church, since it was already lunch time, we searched for a place to eat lunch and we found J&W Tapsi Bar just along the Poblacion road in Tanza. Personally, I will recommend this place, the food is good and yet the price is still affordable, they also have a free wifi available (just ask the staff for the password).
It was already pass 1 in the afternoon when we decided to head to our next stop and that is Casa Tribunal in Noveleta, Cavite. We were able to take some pictures on the place but unfortunately we wasn’t able to see inside the Casa because it is closed. There is municipal tourism office on the ground floor but it is also closed, maybe since we went there on a Saturday wherein Government offices are usually closed during weekends.

Our third destination was the “Dambana ng Pambansang Watawat” in Imus, Cavite since this was the closest spot on our list. it only took us about 20 minutes to travel from Noveleta to Imus, traffic was quite bearable just be alert for some potholes on the road and also not so disciplined bus drivers. The Shrine of the National Flag was still undergoing some construction in its vicinity, I think they plan to make it a park so that everyone will surely be able to recognize that our Philippine Flag has a Shrine in Imus.
It was pass 2:00 pm when we headed back to Maragondon, Cavite to visit Bundok Nagpatong near Bundok Buntis where “Supremo” Andres Bonifacio and his brother Procopio was executed on May 10, 1897 as ordered by the Military Court of the Revolutionary Government. This place is the Shrine of Andres Bonifacio and it is also an Eco Tourism Park which I think this is under the management of the LGU of Maragondon, Cavite.
Just to give you guys a heads up if you’re planning to go here just be prepared for the road going up the Shrine. Near the base of the mountain the road is not yet concrete but they are doing their best to make the place accessible for tourist, either on 4 wheels or 2 wheels like us. be mindful of the place and avoid throwing trash along the road.

we decided to end the day by driving through the Ternate- Nasugbu road leading to the famous Kaybiang Tunnel where most riders coming from different provinces are flocking every weekends. Just a piece of advice, before you travel make sure that your vehicle is in tip top shape and you already have emergency numbers of the local police station just in case you need help.

our total expenses for this trip was less than Php 600.00 including our lunch at Tanza and other supplies bought from convenience stores along the way.
